APO NEWS
2026 February Update
In February APO had so many opportunities for leadership, friendship, and service! We had a Palentines meeting where members enjoyed making chocolate strawberries and writing cards for Veterans. Some service highlights include helping the Boy Scouts with their annual survival skill competition Klondike, tabling at the Colorado Home and Garden Show for Greenwood Wildlife, and volunteering with Ralphie's Green Stampede to help ensure CU basketball games remain zero waste. Finally, APO is excited to welcome five pre-actives that are on track to achieve membership in April! It is still not to late to join APO for the spring semester. Come in to one of our meetings in Eaton 160 or contact the officer team at Alphio@colorado.edu

What is APO?
APO is a co-ed service organization based on the principles of leadership, friendship, and service, and it aims to provide college students with opportunities to develop leadership skills, make lifelong friendships, and contribute to their communities through volunteer service. Hence our motto "Be a Leader, Be a Friend, Be of Service,"
Leadership
APO offers numerous leadership opportunities for its members through various roles and programs. Members can take on leadership positions within their local chapters, such as serving as chapter officers, committee chairs, or project leaders. Additionally, APO provides leadership development through regional and national conferences, workshops, and training programs.
Fellowship
APO offers unique fellowship opportunities that emphasize inclusivity, personal growth, and the development of lifelong friendships through shared experiences in service. Unlike other campus organizations, which may center around social events and exclusivity, APO focuses on building a close-knit, supportive community that is open to all students, regardless of gender, background, or affiliation.
Service
Over the years, APO members have collectively logged millions of service hours, addressing a wide range of needs from disaster relief and community health initiatives to educational support and environmental conservation. The organization has played a vital role in mobilizing college students for volunteerism, fostering leadership skills, and promoting civic responsibility.
